Safeguarding
Safeguarding is literally about keeping people safe, particularly from abuse.

Copies of the church’s safeguarding policies for adults and for children will be found in the hall foyer and in the Parlour on the top floor. These documents  detail how we, as a church, will respond to the need to protect children and adults, including staff members, from harm both when they are in our charge or in our building, or if we suspect that they may be at risk elsewhere.

A copy of the United Reformed Church’s encyclopaedic ‘Good Practice 6’ will also be found in the hall foyer.

If you suspect that that an abusive situation exists your primary contact is the church’s Safeguarding Coordinator, Mrs Susan Newnham . You may also wish to contantact the Synod’s Safeguarding Officer, Ben Twelves, 07935 991545, safeguarding@urc5.org.uk. Other contacts can be found in the relevant policy document.
